December 14, 2017 is the five year mark of the heartbreaking Sandy Hook tragedy. Since that tragic day in Newtown five years ago, 500,000 Americans have been killed or injured by guns. We urge you to join us in our effort to continue to shine a light on the devastating epidemic of gun violence in our nation.
As I write this post today (November 6, 2017) we are learning of two more shootings: one locally where a man killed three people at a local Walmart; and 26 people attending church Sunday in Sutherland Springs, Texas. In December faith communities in Denver will hold candle light vigils to shine a light on these acts of gun violence.
First Plymouth Congregational Church, UCC and First Universalist will host a candle light vigil at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Hampden Avenue, Wednesday evening December 13, 4:30 – 5:30.
Details in the Candle Light Vigil Flyer.
You are invited to join us on December 5th, 6pm at First Plymouth Congregational Church, UCC to make signs for the candle light vigil.
